Nothing like the first session after being ‘locked up’ all winter. This was the perfect first out, beautiful weather, loving couple and tons of pent up creative energy. This is not a short post.

Corinn and Lewis | 12.31.11 | NYE Kalamazoo Wedding

Last wedding of 2012 and it was an amazing one! NYE wedding with some very neat details and a truly amazing couple. Corinn and Lewis are so sweet and make an adorable pair. Lewis is from England and Corinn surprised her groom with a double decker bus to roam around in after the ceremony, it was a blast! Their reception was at the Kalamazoo Radisson’s Webster’s Grill. The food at Webster’s is awesome! Worth checking out if your in the neighborhood. Corinn and her friends made all the decorations, jewelry, flowers and pulled together all the awesome details. Helping coordinate and setup was Design on the 7th. Here are a few of my favorites from their day.

This wedding was very fun and relaxed. I really loved all the couples cool decor ideas and the whole wedding really captured their personalities. The Bride’s dress was a custom design off an existing dress and was just stunning on her! The wedding was held at the Pine Knob Mansion, I had never been there before but was very impressed by the space. Mother nature played a part in this beautiful day as well, for being late October the sun was shining and though it was a bit chilly the outdoor ceremony was amazing and everyone really loved the day. Here are a few of my favorites.

Loved their favors! She had a ‘farmers market’ set up for her guest to fill up a bag of local produce to enjoy. What a sweet idea!

Charlotte and Justin | Smitten

Charlotte and Justin are getting married next year at one of my favorite places, Mill Creek Barn. We took their engagement photos a few months ago in Grand Rapids and it was an adventure to find one another that morning. It happened to be the morning of the Grand Rapids Marathon and of coarse our planned meeting space was smack dab in the middle of it. To make things a bit more complicated they brought their wicked awesome tandem bike with to be a part of the photo-shoot, so trailer in tow does narrow your parking possibilities. After kind of figuring out how we could find one another I got a bit stuck and decided to just walk the last few blocks to where they were only to find out I was on the wrong side of the runners to get to them. Luckily there was a very kind police officer to help me run my way across the thick field of runners. What a morning!! After that adventure it was a breeze taking beautiful images of this adorable and stylish couple.

Jennifer and Brian | 10.15.11 | Frankenmuth Wedding

Jennifer and Brian live in Boston and had an awesome destination wedding in Frankenmuth, MI. Though I didn’t know much about this town before spending time with them there I’m now pretty smitten and can’t wait to take my kids there! Jennifer is from Michigan and had fond family memories of Frankenmth that were her inspiration for the wedding location. Not only was the location amazing her including gnomes and a Oktoberfest theme really put this wedding over the top for me. I have no idea how this lady was able to pull together such a detailed theme so far away from the weddings location but it was killer! Great work Jennifer!!

Kimberlee and Robert | Riverside Receptions Wedding | 10.08.11

Beautiful fall wedding in Centerville, Michigan. Loved getting a chance to shoot at the lovely Riverside Receptions and the brides red details were totally her and worked great with the gorgeous fall weather! The groom being a big Packers fan the bride added lots of personal details (most of which was a surprise for him) that were a nod to his favorite team. It was a great day to get married and the party was super fun. I hope you enjoy their blog post.

I love it when the dudes have fun with it! It helps when the best man is a groom from a wedding I shot a few years ago. LOVE getting passed around in such fun groups of people!
