I first met Elyse in 2009 at her brother’s wedding and instantly loved her and her whole family. I was so delighted when her mom got in touch about Elyse’s wedding.
Elyse and Gideon were wed at the
Long Lake Outdoor Center in Middleville, Michigan. It’s this very neat Wes Andersen looking camp out in the woods. They rented the whole facility for a weekend of wedding adventures. The day of the wedding we had the weirdest Michigan weather…sun, rain, sun, thunderstorms, sun, hail, more rain, more sun….it was bananas. We had just the perfect amount of dry time to sneak outside for a few portraits and lots of wonderful moments enjoying the day and each other. Elyse and Gideon are non-traditional and wanted the day to be relaxed and a celebration everyone would enjoy. It was. They had the best meal prepared by the always amazing
Kangaroo Catering, Elyse’s mom made homemade brownies and 7 layer bars (so so good), and the dance floor was full all night long. Elyse even spun some records herself at the end of the evening. Here are a handful of favorites from my time at Camp Baker-Wild.
Last one of the night, a double exposure while Elyse is spinning.
Congrats Elyse and Gideon! Thank you for including me in your outstanding day!
